Lochmara Lodge is set on the tranquil shores of the Queen Charlotte Sound in the Marlborough Sounds. The Lodge provides a destination where national and international visitors can learn about, interact with and appreciate New Zealand's native flora, fauna and art while enjoying a magical Marlborough Sounds escape. The chalets offer great views over the bay, and balconies with outdoor table and chairs. Each chalet is tastefully furnished and showcases a piece of New Zealand art.The units offer a selection of accommodation for family holidays, couples, and budget-conscious travellers. Units open to a shared courtyard with beautiful views of the bay, and provide outdoor seating and private bathrooms. Easily accessible by water taxi from Picton or for people seeking Queen Charlotte Track accommodation, the Lodge is a wonderful retreat with no road access and no TVs - just the pristine bush environment, countless activity options, and colourful native birdlife. Join a guided tour of our permanently moored "Underwater Observatory." Tours are approx 30-45mins and the guide is a marine biologist. Cost is $20 p.p.
